“Your Mercy is More Than Life”

That evening, the Pentecostal Church in Indonesia (GPdI) Jordan Congregation on Jalan Trikora, Taman Ria Wosi, Manokwari, was filled with people preparing to welcome the new year 2025.

they not only said goodbye to 2024, but also reflected on their life journey filled with God’s grace.

At eight in the evening, the church atmosphere began to get busy. The congregation arrived with faces full of hope.

Simple but meaningful decorations adorn the church. The cross decorated with small lights shines brightly, symbolizing the light of Christ who continues to lead His people.

The event began with praise and worship led by the church music team. songs like “Allah is Able” and “Kunyanyi Hallelujah” played, filling the night with spiritual warmth. Each verse of the song brings the congregation closer to God’s presence.

Reflections on 2024
Rev. Markus, led the prayer and shared God’s words from Psalm 63:4: “Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You.” In his reflection, he reminded the congregation about God’s faithful love that never ends even though 2024 is full of challenges.

“In the midst of all the storms of life, God’s mercy is more than enough to sustain us,” he said with confidence. The congregation was stunned, recalling the difficult moments they experienced throughout the year. However, in every difficulty, they felt God’s hand that never left.

welcome the New Year 2025
When the clock struck 23.59, the entire congregation stood and held candles. In a quiet atmosphere, New Year’s Eve prayers were said. “Lord, we leave 2025 into Your hands. Guide our steps, as You led us last year,” Rev. Markus prayed solemnly.

When the bells rang at exactly 00.00, the sound of trumpets and shouts of joy filled the church. The congregation shook hands with each other, wishing each other a happy new year with enthusiasm. For them, the new year is a new beginning to continue walking in God’s mercy.
